DAY IN THE LIFE OF THE HUDSON RIVER
This is an annual one-day event in which over 5,000 students and biologists collect data on the Hudson River from its origin at Lake Tear of the Clouds near Mount Marcy in the Adirondacks to New York harbor. We spent the day catching and identifying fish, testing turbidity, salinity, and water chemistry, and testing pH levels. We wrote down our findings which were then entered into a larger database with all 5,000 other student’s data. I look forward to this one day all year, it satisfies my curiosity and supplies meaningful research.
